A Life Unremarked is the soundtrack for a video art work, A Life Unremarked, from April 2014 by my late husband Martin Herbert. He was working on an idea that people in today's world are able to do extraordinary things and have adventures that only a select few could even have dreamt of in the past. Because of an inflation in personal feats, they tend to go unnoticed. Ironically, his own life ended prematurely and thus his desire to become noticed for the great art he was about to make was cut short and disappeared into the mist of an anonymous past like all the other interesting things he did in his lifetime. He was a polymath and even explorer, and also made the point that this generalised approach to life and the universe is not valued in today's society.

He undoubtedly intended to provide his own soundtrack for this work but never got around to finishing the project. This is thus a posthumous collaboration between us, one which I know he would very much have approved of (that is assuming that he did eventually want to finish the video). We always intended to collaborate as artists, though the inflation of artists and artistic products in today's world makes you question your own creative input. Watch the complete work on Vimeo.
